World Athletics Ultimate Championship:
Established in 1880, the Amateur Athletic Association (AAA) became the first national governing body for athletics in England and initiated its own annual competitions known as the AAA Championships. The Wenlock Olympian Games (which began in 1850 in Wenlock), England, included athletics events as part of its sports program. Although the main highlight of this competition was a running event — it also showcased various ancient Greek sports. From 1796 to 1798 (revolutionary France hosted L’Olympiade de la République annually), serving as an early precursor to the modern Olympic Games. Other Panhellenic Games, founded around 500 BC, also featured athletics competitions.
